Agoraphobic walks
“Agoraphobic walks” wouldn’t exist without going through the covid-19 pandemic, which has once again activated the mental and muscular memory of being forced to be confined at home. The artist used the artist residency period to do a certain number of predefined walks in order to reflect between a supposedly idyllic rural environment where anxiety does not seem to existand the city as a possible inducer of agoraphobic impulses. Miguel Tavares was hosted in 2021 in the context of the Mental Rural artist residency cycle, fully dedicated to artist interventions around mental aspects that can be presented in rural contexts.
