Lafões Cult Lab (Vouzela)
On March 24th the inauguration of the exhibition “The Time of Things” took place at Lafões Cult Lab. This exhibition is a creation by Binaural Nodar in collaboration with the Senior University of Vouzela.
“The Time of Things” is a community project of sound and photographic research, developed with a specific methodology and related to stories linked to a diversity of personal objects, life companions of the participating groups, favoring those who lack processes of valuing their personal history and, consequently, their individual and social self-esteem.
The exhibition brings together 40 panels and each one of them is associated with a story, told in the first person and which starting point is an object chosen by seniors, taking into account its affective value or the memories associated with it. In addition to the photographs, in which the participants are portrayed with the object they chose, it is possible to access a QR Code with the collected interviews. In the center of the room, a hologram installations presents the objects themselves, while it is possible to hear the testimony related to each specific object shown in the hologram. Sweets from Vouzela, the old railway, the linen and wool cycle, agriculture, resin work and the overseas wars are some of the shared memories.
