VIRTUAL ARTIST RESIDENCIES
In 2022, in the aftermath of the Covid-19 pandemic, Binaural Nodar announced its programme of online artist residencies, Rural Virtual, developed from the Binaural Nodar Digital Archive, a repository of sound and visual documents related to multiple themes relevant to understanding the memory and present of a specific territory, Viseu Dão Lafões and surrounding regions, in Portugal.
This programme of virtual artist residencies questions whether an archive can be a place. Somewhere between the virtual and the real, a place that we can visit, interpret, mould with our perception and art. A place where we can perhaps find sensitive connections and stay connected, be changed by an experience and leave something in return.
