Memórias coletivas rurais
Argentine sound artists, Sol Rezza and Franco Falistoco, developed a project using sound and radio art as a guiding thread with the aim of building narratives based on listening to women’s daily lives in the rural context of Castro Daire. Throughout the residency, the artists followed agricultural and domestic work, as well as the social relationships of women of different ages, still trying to bring out memories that could be either of hardness and silent iniquity, or of small joys or even past overcoming .
Sol Rezza (b.1982, Buenos Aires, Argentina) is a composer, sound engineer and radio producer; specialist in sound design and composition in the field of experimental music and radio art for various media, theatre, festivals and installations. His works of sound experimentation have as their main axis the creation of immersive sound environments through the transformation of field recordings, effects and surrounding sounds. She has participated with her works in different festivals and artist residencies, including: Tsonami Festival (2019), Radio Art Residency–Radio Corax (2018), Hörspiel Sommer Leipzig (2016), CTM Festival (2015), Sonoras-Mujeres En El Arte Sonoro (2014), Sonophilia-Lincon’s Festival of Sound and Music (2014), Hörlurs Festival (2013) and Roundhouse Net Audio London Festival (2011).
Franco Falistoco has been working with communication since he was very young. He walked through the corridors of the FM radio stations in his city, learning the roles of each place, between the operator and the journalists, then with his own space, chronicling and revisiting the Argentine musical past. At the same time, he began to investigate the technique, which later became his craft and profession. As a radio producer, his interest is to leave a clear message: sound communicates in all its possible variants, being a great tool that allows you to communicate without words, taking emotions to all possible levels. His path followed sound experimentation, both theoretical and practical, the discovery of radio art, which was a way of transferring all his concerns to a concrete, communicational and artistic plane, materialized in the radio broadcast EL RUÍDO es el Mensaje, a true laboratory of sonic alchemy.
