Filò
Riccardo Bertan proposed to address leisure mobility in rural places, considering it both from the sides of tourists and local people. He visited several places as a tourist, walking randomly but slowly. This is a vacation form of mobility juxtaposed to the speed and urgency of working time. In slow mobility observance of details, especially the minimal ones is a great conquest. Leisure mobility is also connected with music parties: in the memory of Riccardo’s grandparents music parties happened in places once rural. They were set up in a barn and were called “filò” (from the threading practices of women while listening to music and tales). He proposed a remake of this type of musical parties to be set up in the houses or yards of local people, where listening and recording of local tales and field recordings of live sets might happen.
Riccardo Bertan (b. 1981, Italy) explores sound perceptions in non-narrative sonic events focusing on listening and in the aesthetic research of the field recording connected with memories of places. He emphasizes micro sounds and feeling versus the high fidelity, giving importance also to the recording noises. He is collaborating with visual artists to create a sonic ambient for their works both for who leart exhibitions and for a single works. He has taken part in events such as Helicotrema festival, Analogica Festival and Serra dei Giardini della Biennale di Venezia.
