“Linen: Stories along a thread” follows the rebirth of linen in this village located on the southern slope of the São Macário mountain, based on the symbolic initiative of a inhabitant, Delfim Tomás Rocha, who returned to his village to take care of his mother who has Alzheimer and realized the importance of the rhythms and voices of the ancient linen tradition as a therapy against forgetfulness. The publication is the result of a joint work that started in 2012 and involved all the inhabitants of Rompecilha, whose individual paths are also portrayed in the book, in parallel with the ethnographic memories linked to linen itself. This publication is part of the European project Tramontana, a network of rural and mountain memory archives.
