Black Clay Workshop (Ribolhos, Castro Daire)
A co-production of the Municipality of Castro Daire through its Municipal Library, Binaural Nodar and the Parish Union of Mamouros, Alva and Ribolhos.
The community and artistic event ‘A morning with the black clay of Ribolhos’ took place last Saturday, with a varied program of interpretation of the places and craft techniques of the black clay of this village in the municipality of Castro Daire, as well as artistic expression, through the inauguration of the installation ‘Elementary Alomorphy’ by Ana Margarida Ferreira and a brief black clay molding workshop led by the potter Professor Jorge Ferreira.
The event was held at the Oficina do Barro Negro and was attended by the Councillor for Education, Professor Armando Lemos, Dr. Marta Carvalhal, from the Municipal Library and her team, as well as the president of the Mamouros, Alva and Ribolhos Parish Council, Hélder Ferreira, and the potter and teacher Jorge Ferreira. A message was read out from the coordinator of Binaural Nodar, Luís Costa, who was in northern Italy promoting a collective sound research project on transhumance in Europe, as part of the Creative Europe Tramontana Network project.
