Cycle of encounters with former emigrants
Alva, Souto de Alva and Pereiro (Castro Daire)

Binaural Nodar and The Municipal Library of Castro Daire ended a cycle of interviews with former emigrants residing in the villages of Alva and Souto de Alva (Union of Civil Parishes of Alva, Mamouros and Ribolhos) and also in the village of Pereiro (Civil Parish of Mões ), within the scope of the ethnographic research and artistic creation project “Ecos da Ida e do Retorno” (“Echoes of leaving and returning”).

This set of interviews will soon be part of the Memory on Wheels Digital Archive (https://www.memoria-sobre-rodas.org), an initiative by the Municipal Library of Castro Daire and Binaural Nodar dedicated to recording, editing, cataloging and dissemination of aspects of the municipality’s rich intangible heritage and which in 2019 obtained an honorable mention in Good Practices in Public Libraries Award promoted by the General Directorate of Books, Archives and Libraries.
