Binaural Nodar was invited to share its experience in transatlantic cultural projects, within the scope of the Penedo Music Festival (State of Alagoas, Brazil), which in 2023 had an edition held in Portugal, specifically in Lisbon (May 25th ) and Castro Daire (May 26th).
As part of this participation, the coordinator of Binaural Nodar, Luís Costa, participated in a round table on transatlantic cultural bridges, which took place on May 26th at 3:30 pm at the Municipal Cultural Center of Castro Daire and which also included local government representants and cultural directors from Brasil and Portugal
Binaural Nodar has been developing since 2017 a project titled Ecos Antípodas, which has the Sound Map of Uruguay as a partner, being a set of social and sound research activities and artistic creation that enhance cross-reflections between rural contexts in Portugal, Uruguay and Brazil.
An example of this partnership is the Campo Compartilhado project, carried out in 2019 with three rural schools in Portugal (Fataunços, Vouzela), Brazil (Alegrete, Rio Grande do Sul) and Uruguay (La Estiba, Artigas). We are especially grateful for the magnificent collaboration of the teacher Cristina Gonçalves of the João André Figueira Municipal School of Basic Education in Alegrete (Rio Grande do Sul), as well as the teaching staff of the rural schools of Fataunços and La Estiba.
Binaural Nodar is a cultural entity supported by the Portuguese Government – Culture | General Directorate for the Arts.
