THE ART OF THE CARAMULAN ENCOUNTER

Artistic residency, 10 to 13 June (Municipality of Vouzela)
In 2021 the Master of Contemporary Artistic Creation at the University of Aveiro and Binaural Nodar celebrate ten years of partnership, under which multiple joint activities were developed, including an annual artist residency co-organized in the territory of Viseu Dão Lafões. The concept of the partnership has been linked to the idea of complementarity, both territorial (the Vouga River as a symbol of the connection between mountain and Atlantic communities) and artistic (contextual sound as an interesting concept and tool for creation).
Between June 10th and 13rd, the annual artist residency will take place in the Municipality of Vouzela, which will be dedicated to the idea of return: returning to the landscape, returning to the direct word, returning to empathy between different ways of living, returning to contact with the land, returning to the non-mediated sharing of memories, returning to welcoming bodies, voices and desires in the rural landscape, in a way that everyone (students, communities, organization) can feel safe
On June 4th, the coordinator of Binaural Nodar, Luís Costa, will give a lecture to the students of the master’s degree, in which he will develop the conceptual bases of the organization’s intervention and specifically of the aforementioned artist residency.
