Binaural Nodar will participate in the International School Libraries Week, through a partnership with the Municipal Library of Castro Daire.
On the 28th and 29th of October, four sessions of the sound workshop “Memória sobre Rodas” (“Memory on wheels”) will be held in the Libraries of the Basic Schools of Castro Daire and Mões, through which about eighty children of the third and fourth grade will have access to the mobile studio of sound and audiovisual recoding of the Municipal Library of Castro Daire and will carry out collections around the school community itself.
“Memória sobre Rodas” is an integrated ethnographic research initiative about the cultural heritage of the municipality of Castro Daire launched at the end of 2018 and which includes, among others, the novelty of using an available resource, the mobile library of the Castro Daire Municipal Library, which also became a mobile sound and audiovisual recording studio.
The motto of “Memory on Wheels” project is “We are all heritage”, a way of showing that ethnographic knowledge resides in each village, in each house and in each family, being part of the flow of memories that come from the ancestors, which urges care, dissemination and planning for the future, so that the municipality of Castro Daire could be increasingly known for its absolutely unique geographical and cultural context.
