Binaural / Nodar is an associated partner of SUSPLACE Project, funded in the context of the Horizon 2020 program for research and innovation – Marie Curie Actions, having been invited to join the consortium by the Department of Social, Political and Territorial Sciences at the University of Aveiro.
Beneficiaries of the SUSPLACE project are the University of Wageningen (Netherlands), the University of Cardiff (UK), the University of Latvia (Latvia), the University of Aveiro (Portugal), the Catholic University of Louvain (Belgium) and the Institute Luke for Natural Resources (Finland).
The overall aim of the SUSPLACE programme is to train researchers in innovative, interdisciplinary approaches to study sustainable place-shaping practices. SUSPLACE will provide excellent and innovative research training on sustainable place-shaping and offer attractive career opportunities as researchers, change agents, connectors and intermediates in collective forms of sustainable place-shaping on different scales, at various institutes such as local and regional governments, NGOs, consultancies and private sustainability businesses. SUSPLACE will provide knowledge-exchange opportunities through cross-border and cross-sector mobility of researchers, to better prepare them for the current and future societal challenge of development, integrating themes such as food, energy, climate and resources which are unfolding in places.
In the context of the project, which will take place between late 2015 and 2019, Binaural/Nodar will host in its territory two Post Doctoral researchers (in partnership with the University of Aveiro), will collaborate in the development of multimedia tools for increased visibility of some of the most innovative methodologies for modelling sustainable territories and will participate in conferences and at the project’s summer school.
