Binaural/Nodar’s artist residencies program for 2013 will be fully dedicated to the religious phonosphere in villages of the Gralheira mountain range in Northen Portugal, and will be developed in partnership with Viseu Diocese and within the context of European project Tramontana, dedicated to audiovisual documentation of rural mountains in southern European countries.
The artist residencies will take place in two distinct periods:
8-27 April 2013 | Divina Sonus Ruris Festival on 26 and 27 April 2013
7-26 October 2013 | Divina Sonus Ruris Festival on 25 and 26 October 2013
Here is the definitive list of artists selected through the open call:
Trish and Dan Scott with Father Rodney Schofield
Adam Overton
Christoph Korn
Rodrigo Malvar & Ana Guedes
Mary Rothlisberger & Paul Richardson
Frances Crow & David Prior
Antony Lyons & Anne Burke
Antje Vowinckel
Ana Rodríguez Caetano
The decision was extremely difficult since only nine proposals were chosen from a group of more than 150 applications.
Note: Additional works will be commissioned for both editions of the Divina Sonus Ruris Festival, which will result from invitations by Binaural/Nodar, as such, outside the scope of this selection process.
Warm regards to all candidates, selected and not selected.
