[Call for creative projects open until 30 September 2015]

Binaural/Nodar announces an open call for creative projects in sound art/experimental music under the generic concept of  “playing the rural landscape” in its double, tactile and musical, meanings. After several years  hosting projects that worked thematic aspects of the territory that were beforehand proposed to artists (riverscapes, voicescapes, religion, rural architecture, social mobility), Binaural/Nodar returns to the liberating nature of the absence of a script or of a previous guiding theme, inviting artists to emphasize the organic, expressive and/or visceral contact with (natural and built) landscapes of the Gralheira mountain range (São Pedro do Sul), through performances and/or installations to be conceived from the stimuli and interactions arising during the residency.

a) In the selection process the following types of artistic works will be privileged: Electroacoustic / vocal / sound art compositions; Permanent or ephemeral sound sculptures; Radio works; Free improvisation.

b) The artist residencies  will be developed in April and October 2016 (each artist will develop his/her project during three weeks in only one of the mentioned periods).

c) Applications are accepted only if sent by September 30th, 2015, exclusively using the email info-binauralmedia.org. Applications sent directly to the SOCCOS network are also possible, through the online application form at: https://codelab.typeform.com/to/am4h7e

d) A single document should be attached to the application (a pdf, doc or zip file) including the following information:

  1. Art project proposal to be developed (indicating both work methodology and planned chronology);
  2. Brief artistic biography (one paragraph) and Curriculum Vitae;
