Fingerprinting Sound Memories

A sound reaching a humans ear will get analyzed in our brains and mapped via memory and experience into semantic information. This analyzes is basedon a few obvious parameters: overall loudness-characteristics or envelope,pitch and very important formant-structures. Similar to smelling one can memorize a unique sound of a place.
