Manuela Barile, multidisciplinary artist  (video, video performance, vocal experimentation, field recordings, sound art) and artistic director of Binaural/Nodar, directs on May 23 from 10.30 (Museum FBAUP) a seminar for Unneeded Conversations 2013 organized by i2ADS between 23 and 25 May 2013 at several spaces of the Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Porto and at Passos Manuel.

Manuela Barile will discuss some conceptual and methodological aspects of her artistic work, specially the work she has been developing since 2006 in rural communities of the Gralheira and Montemuro mountain ranges in Center Portugal. Luís Costa, president of Binaural/Nodar and Maile Colbert, mutimedia artist associated with Binaural/Nodar, will moderate the dialogue with the audience.

In 2013 Unneeded Conversations will have Cinema as theme, with a screamed or cried headline – CINEMA! – which refers to the urgency of a discussion on the place and role of cinema in the field of contemporary art practice.
