The American sound and video artist Maile Colbert joins Binaural to coordinate the graphic design and media post-production areas. Maile decided to move to Portugal following her presence in Nodar last October 2007 (where she developed an art project at NOGS) and she will definitely help Binaural to deliver state-of-the-art media contents related with its artist residencies activities, either internet-based or CDs, DVDs and mixed-media catalogs.
Maile Colbert a is filmmaker, video, and sound artist currently working in Los Angeles, California. She holds a BFA in The Studio for Interrelated Media from Massachusetts College of Art, and a MFA in Integrated Media/Film and Video from the California Institute of the Arts. She has had multiple screenings, exhibits, and shows, including The New York Film Festival, LACE Gallery, MOMA New York, Los Angeles County Museum of Art, the REDCAT Theater in Los Angeles, The Portland International Documentary and Experimental Film Festival, and a two-week multi-media tour in Japan. Maile also has a huge experience in sound and video edition and has been working in last years for ad agencies, TV channels and other filmmakers, apart from being an invited lecturer in several universities to speak about her experience in her fields of expertise.
