The Fronte[i]ras 2007 - International Meeting of Transdisciplinary Arts, co-organized by Binaural and Alg-a (Galicia, Spain) had as central theme of reflection the concept of border (“fronteira”) in all its possible variants.

The Fronte[i]ras 07 Meeting simultaneously took place on both sides of the border . The program, that includes performances, installations and conferences, promoted the discussion of ideas and projects, between artists and social thinkers, seeking to encourage collaborative processes of discovery and experience exchanges between some of the most dynamic and innovating artists operating in the areas of transdisciplinary arts.

Binaural decided to commission a first set of interviews with artists working with field recordings, with the aim of developing a comprehensive and open-ended meditation on the sounds that surround us and how the individuals that work with these sounds are creating their own rules, grammar and vocabulary.

Suénate los Mocos

Sound Art Workshop
October - December 2005
MUSAC - León, Spain

Binaural collaborated in the Sound Art Workshop of the Contemporary Art Museum of León (Musac), directed by the Spanish musician Nilo Gallego. The Binaural members Luís Costa and Rui Costa were responsible for the compilation of theorical and historical materials related to the different sound art areas, esthetics and artists. During the same workshop, the sound artist Rui Costa presented a conference / concert that illustrated the most actual trends in the use of real time sound processing tools.
